| Description of library facilities: | In addition to the general and interdisciplinary collections, the holdings of the nationally renowned American Geographical Society Library (AGSL), the Curriculum Library, Music Library and the Multimedia Library all reside within the Golda Meir Library Building. Our Archives and Special Collections departments hold unique materials highlighting our regional strengths in Book Arts and Milwaukee manufacturing, ethnic groups and organizations. We are part of a statewide network of archival repositories which provides extended access to one of a kind materials. The AGSL has over a half million maps, a half million slides and photographs, rare globes and atlases going back to 1452--it is a gold mine for researchers around the world. The AGSL has the largest map collection in any academic library in North America. The libraries also house the largest Slovenian music collection outside of Slovenia. |
