Description of library facilities: The Library is also a partial United States Government Documents Depository Libary and makes its resources available to the Newport community at large. The Library is a member of the Consortium of RI Academic Research Libraries(CRIARL), a member of the Higher Education Library Information Network(HELIN), and the Rhode Island Interrelated Library Network (RHILINET). Seating for over 450 people.
Museums in proximity: The Pell Center was established at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, by an Act of the United States Congress on September 28, 1996, to honor Senator Claiborne Pell. The Pell Center promotes the primary objectives of Senator Pell's decades of public service: enhancing international dialogue to achieve a more peaceful world and preparing individuals for an informed and active role in local, national, and world affairs.
